Implantable Nerve Stimulator
A US based Startup Company in the field of neurological therapy through nerve stimulation requested design services from NextGen RF. The traditional approach to nerve stimulation requires the use on an implantable battery to apply the appropriate energy waveform to the nerve, and requires scheduling multiple invasive surgeries to maintain. Using advanced technology, NextGen was able to design a system to power and communicate wirelessly to an implant and perform nerve stimulation without the use of a battery - creating opportunities for therapy on a variety of new conditions.
Positive Train Control Amplifier
A new communication system has been mandated to require the use of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems to monitor the movement, speed and positions of trains, much like a traditional air traffic control system. NextGen RF was relied upon as being an expert in the field of power amplifier design, and designed a highly linear, high efficiency class AB PA using Cartesian feedback linearization. The result is a stable, manufacturable design where high reliability is a must.
Public Safety Repeater
The public safety market is undergoing a transition to more efficient use of spectrum, and with that brings a new set of technological challenges. NextGen RF was contracted to design a discrete, high power amplifier with linearization, a high rejection receiver, a digital signal processer, and embedded systems for controlling and monitoring each subsystem.
Emergency Airfield Lighting System
NextGen RF was selected as a subcontractor to support the design of a tactical light system for deployment on critical missions. NextGen RF's expertise was used to design an RF Mesh network system that can reliably self-commission and communicate to thousands of nodes, which eliminates the need for a cable rollout. This design effort required a custom, discrete RF design and an application specific mesh networking OS.
Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Amplifier
Distributed Antenna Systems combine multiple carriers transported over a medium, typically fiber optic cables.
NextGen has completed several asset tracking designs as part of the Internet of Things (IoT) movement. Depending on the asset being tracked, there are a number of different solutions available using off the shelf solutions or custom systems. NextGen RF has the experience to help define what approach makes sense, from the monitored asset all the way up to the cloud.
